How to Join

We welcome new singers at Gloucester Choral Society?

We want to attract new singers so please come along and join us on at one of our Monday rehearsals. If you enjoy yourself, you can then put yourself forward for audition to become a member.

WE HAVE SPACES IN ALL VOICE PARTS BUT PARTICULARLY ALTO & TENOR

When do we rehearse?

We rehearse on Monday nights from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

Where do we rehearse?

Mainly, we rehearse in the Chapter House at Gloucester Cathedral but, on occasion, we will meet at either Sir Thomas Rich’s School or Denmark Road High School.

In the week leading up to a concert, we rehearse in the cathedral itself.

Where do we perform?

Our concerts all take place in the magnificent Gloucester Cathedral.

Join us and experience the sheer joy and excitement of singing some of the greatest music ever written under the direction of one of Britain’s top choral conductors in one of the finest concert halls in the world!

New Members are always welcome to join us, even if you may not yet have a lot of experience.

What should I do now?

You can send your details to the Membership Secretary on membership@gloucesterchoral.com or call 07798 576755.

Firstly, you are welcome to attend a couple of rehearsals to get to know members of the society before deciding whether to present yourself for audition. Auditions are normally held in September, but feel free to contact us at any time during the year.

Once you have passed your audition you will join the section of the choir that suits your voice and, from there, you will be expected to prepare for and sing in every concert the Society presents. Your subscription will only be payable if you pass your audition.
