Gloucester Choral Society is a first-rate, established, amateur choir with a rich history stretching back over 175 years, based at Gloucester Cathedral. We are dedicated to presenting an interesting, varied and challenging programme of concerts each season.
We pride ourselves on the quality of the performances we give and the wonderful professional musicians we are able to work alongside. Our commitment to such high standards, led by our distinguished Musical Director, Adrian Partington, enables us to engage some of the most accomplished soloists and orchestras, including the Philharmonia Orchestra in recent years.
Our rehearsals take place in the Cathedral’s historic Chapter House and in the Cathedral itself.
We rehearse on Monday evenings from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
We are always looking for new members, we currently number 150, and one of the best ways to test the water is join us at one of our Sing Saturdays. If you enjoy yourself, you can then put yourself forward for audition.
Experience the sheer joy and excitement of singing some of the greatest music ever written under the direction of one of Britain’s top choral conductors in one of the finest concert halls in the world!
