In the years before the first World War, these three Gloucestershire men formed found friendship in each other, and found creative inspiration from the landscape and nature in their home county.
Gurney would leave 300 songs, 900 poems and a variety of musical compositions. Harvey published six books of poems and a series of radio broadcasts, while Herbert Howells created a legacy of choral composition of the highest order and of great significance to Gloucester Cathedral and its musicians today.
Tony will explore how each could have been among the best in their respective fields and their stories as they came together in Gloucestershire.
